IREPA LASER
IREPA LASER is a French company providing a link between research and industry. Its main mission is to develop efficient laser solutions for industry. IREPA is a Centre of Technology Transfer (CRT), independent, specialised in the treatment of materials by laser. We are a major actor for the promotion and the development of laser technology in industry and we carry out feasibility studies, manufacture prototypes, industrial pre-series on request and provide training.
Technology / Expertise:
IREPA LASER have developed its own blown powder deposition process (named CLAD® for Direct Additive Laser Construction) based on a patented nozzle. The metal powders are injected into the patented nozzle to create a uniform jet. The powders melt as they move across the laser beam, this results in a uniform and dense deposit with properties akin to parts produced by forging and foundry processes.
Our participation allowed us to verify that the DED powder technology we had developed in recent years was relevant to the expectations of the Enlighten ED project. Irepa laser has experience on large scale DED and is always looking forward to achieve more complex geometry parts. This is a great new step for the entire technical team and offers new business opportunities.
