From 10 to 14 June 2026, ENLIGHTEN-ED will be present at ILA Berlin, one of the key meeting points for the aerospace and space community.
Europe is working to strengthen its independent access to space. Therefore, the need for launcher technologies that are greener, more competitive and more flexible is becoming increasingly important.
ENLIGHTEN-ED contributes to this ambition by developing and demonstrating key technologies for future European launchers. The project focuses on green high-thrust propulsion, advanced additive manufacturing, AI-enabled engine health monitoring and cost-efficient launcher subsystems.
At ILA Berlin, visitors will be able to meet the ENLIGHTEN-ED team, learn more about the project and discover how European partners are working together to support the next generation of space transportation.
What visitors can discover at the ENLIGHTEN-ED booth
At our booth, we will share insights into the core technologies behind ENLIGHTEN-ED and their role in future launcher systems.
Visitors can learn more about:
โ๏ธ Green high-thrust propulsion
๐ ๏ธ Additive manufacturing for launcher technologies
๐ค AI and machine learning for engine health monitoring
๐ Low-cost subsystems for future green propulsion
๐ The European consortium behind the project
These technology areas are central to ENLIGHTEN-EDโs work. Together, they support the development of launcher systems that are more efficient, reliable and sustainable.
Additive manufacturing, AI and green propulsion
Additive manufacturing can help reduce production complexity and lower costs. In addition, it can enable new design approaches for launcher components.
AI and machine learning can support smarter monitoring of engine performance and health. As a result, they can contribute to safer and more reliable launcher systems.
At the same time, ENLIGHTEN-ED is working on cost-efficient subsystems for future green propulsion. These include ignition systems, electric valves, nozzle extensions and multifunctional lines.
Connecting with the European space community
ILA Berlin will also be an opportunity to present the European collaboration behind ENLIGHTEN-ED.
The event will bring together industry stakeholders, researchers, partners and decision-makers interested in the future of space transportation.
For ENLIGHTEN-ED, ILA Berlin is more than a showcase. It is a chance to open conversations around the technologies needed to make European launch systems more sustainable, competitive and ready for future market needs.
